Maria Kirilenko unfortunately lost her third round match today against Serbian Jelena Jankovic 1-6, 1-6. Maria spent yesterday over 5 playing tennis. Today Maria made too many unforced errors to make a change against the Serbian. |

Maria has reached the 3rd round in Rome after defeating Anabel Medina Garriques from Spain in 3 sets: 6-3, 5-7 and 6-2.  |

Russian Maria Kirilenko just won her first round match at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome, against Russian Nadia Petrova in 2 hours and 36 minutes real thriller: 3-6, 7-5 and 6-4 in the final set!  At the score of 4-4 in the final set, Maria fortunately made the right break on the right moment! Leading 5-4 in the third set, Maria was serving for the match and finished it with a comfortable last serve 40-15 game. |

Maria lost to Jelena Jankovic (6-2, 6-4) in third round of Qatar Telecom German Open. At Steffi Graff Stadium in Berlin, Makiri had started well but was physically weaker from game to game. Maria who was playing agressively at the beginning broke Jankovic in first game and then won her service. Unfortunately, Serbian gave Makiri no chance in next six games. Forth and fifth games were lost to zero by Maria. After Jelena brought it 2-5, Maria asked for coach’s help. Broken to 2-6, she once again won first game in second set, one more time breaking Jelena. But then Maria lost dynamism, run much less and was committing simple mistakes. She’d won two games in a row to make it 3-2 (broke Jelena to zero) but canny Jankovic decided to finish match. Maria equalised to 4-4 with own service but it was all. Next tournament for Maria next week at Rome. Text by Krzysiu |

Maria Kirilenko advances to the third round of the Qatar Total Open in Berlin! Today the Russian star played her second round match against Nadia Petrova. In a wonderful straight sets match Maria won 6-3 and 6-3! Maria will meet Serbian Jelena Jankovic in the third round. |

Maria Kirilenko is through the second round of the Qatar Telecom German Open 2008 in Berlin. The 21 year old Russian defeated today Elena Vesnina in 3 sets 2-6, 7-5, 6-2! Yesterday the match was suspended by darkness, but today the 2 Russians continued the match, starting the third set. Maria will next play against 16th seeded Nedia Petrova, who defeated Katarina Srebotnik in a tough 3 sets. |

Russian Maria Kirilenko unfortunately lost her final match at the Suzuki Warsaw masters 2008 to Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova in straight sets. Maria, who defeated Marta Domachowska in the semi-final, lost in the final match yesterday 2-6, 3-6. Maria will next play in Berlin. To play the Qatar Telecom German Open. Maria Kirilenko will play Russian Elena Vesnina in the first round of this tournament. |
